National Trust through the seasons

We are seriously getting our moneys worth from our National Trust Membership! I headed back to Stourhead this afternoon with the Ducklings and their friends from school. It was a little bit chilly, but when the sun is shining and you are with good company no one minds a little chill.
Stourhead Lake is just breathtaking, I can't wait to visit in the Spring, Summer and Autumn, I have a feeling it is going to be our new favourite place. We have lived in our current home for 4 years but I am only just beginning to feel like I'm getting to know the area and make the most of the beautiful locations locally.

I couldn't help but take hundreds of pictures of our namesake, Our friends were super organised and brought bird seed along with them which the Ducks loved! We had a little bit of a Duck party as they followed us around the lake ready for our next seed throwing pit stop.

If you ever visit Stourhead make sure you pop inside the Grotto, not that you can miss it on your walk around the lake! Its so magical being inside, like its your very own secret hideout. If I wasn't surrounding by super excited children I could sit here for hours just watching the lake and the water glistening in the sun.

Give us a whistle!!

Savouring the view from the top! I don't think I can remember the last time the Ducklings sat so quietly! Must be that view!! . . . or the Lemon Sherbet sweets our friends brought?!?!

The walk definitely did as I had hoped! As we headed back up to the car park, there was some achey legs and tierd Ducklings!! ;-)
Just before we left, I mean seriously we were in the car park, Harry fell off a wall flat onhis face. We headed to the cafe where the staff were so helpfull in getting us some ice to pop on his lovely new bruise even though they were shutting. The boy had been climbing trees, rocks and playing with sticks for the last two hours and he falls off the wall in the car park while waiting for me to finish nattering :-(
Until next time
Love
